Product Description
Benfotiamine is an organic compound with molecular formula c19h23n4o6ps, molecular weight 466.45 and appearance of white crystalline powder.
Phenylphosphothiamine is a fat soluble vitamin B1 derivative. Except that its physical and chemical properties are different from water-soluble vitamin B1, the structural difference is that it has an open thiazole ring, which forms physiologically active vitamin B1 through closed-loop action in the body.

Function
Thiamine diphosphate is a fat soluble derivative of vitamin B1, which improves the low bioavailability of water-soluble vitamin B1, increases the concentration of thiamine in blood and tissues, and thus improves the curative effect.
Application
(1) For the prevention and treatment of vitamin B1 deficiency;
(2) It is used for replenishment when the demand for vitamin B1 increases and the intake from food is insufficient (fatigue, hyperthyroidism, pregnancy, lactation, intense physical labor, etc.);
(3) For the treatment of non alcoholic Wernicke encephalopathy;
(4) For the treatment of beriberi;
(5) It is used for the treatment of the following diseases, which are speculated to be related to vitamin B1 deficiency and metabolic disorders, such as neuralgia; Muscle pain and joint pain; Peripheral neuritis, peripheral nerve paralysis; Myocardial metabolic disorder; Constipation and other gastrointestinal motor dysfunction.
Pharmacological Action
Phenylphosphothiamine is a fat soluble derivative of thiamine, which has higher bioavailability than thiamine. However, phenylphosphothiamine must be dephosphorylated by alkaline phosphatase to become a fat soluble precursor before it can pass through the cell membrane to exert biological effects. Clinically, it is mainly used for the treatment of diabetic complications, especially for the treatment and prevention of diabetic retinopathy. Compared with other derivatives of thiamine, this product is absorbed more quickly and completely after oral administration. Phenylphosphothiamine is absorbed into the systemic circulation and quickly metabolized into thiamine, but does not increase the drug concentration in the brain. At the same time, it produces hippuric acid and is excreted through urine.
