Taurodeoxycholic acid (TUDCA) is a conjugated bile acid formed by the shrinkage between the shuttle group of ursodeoxycholic acid (UDCA) and the amino group of taurine. TUDCA was found in bear bile in 1902. It is the main bile acid in bear bile and has the effects of antispasmodic, anticonvulsant, anti-inflammatory and gallstone dissolving.
